Why
change the policy of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
By Dennis S Murray Sr.
There is a problem with this issue when Walmart and numerous other corporations feel that DEI policies are not good for corporate America when we are still dealing with racial disparities in America. The forefathers who wrote the constitution in 1787 established this country by rapping, harming, killing, stealing, and deceit of others who were not white. These are the same white political figures who eliminated and terrorized Native Indians from their homeland with the intentional destruction of a national racial, religious, or ethnic group defined as genocide. In 2002 while attending George Washington University I published an academic article titled “Annihilation of Native American” Indian 2002 and in 2024-25 we still have not learned our lessons from 1948 to the present with the dismantling of DEI and race relations.
Discrimination,
racism, the lynching of black slaves taken from their homes in Africa a
thousand miles away to work for free in America for white plantation owners like
Governor Kemp's of Georgia family members of the Habersham in South Carolina, who
brought the first slaves to Savannah Georgia despite it being outlawed and the Habersham-Kemp
family won a bloody battle in bringing African in chains to work on their
plantation. One of the reasons that we need to strengthen DEI policies is to
help those minorities who have been marginalized with unfairness and limited equity
treatment to strive in this country, but white women who have gained the most
from DEI are silent on this topic like they were during the 2024 Presidential election.
Still, they are the majority beneficiaries of DEI. Mainstream media outlets continue
dancing around DEI policy with talking points and no solutions to improve it. In
contrast, blacks and other minorities continue to be targeted to abolish DEI
policies even though white families represent 37 percent of receiving SNAP and
Native Americans get 2% who are the original landlords in America.
DEI
is supposed to represent fairness and now that our government and its elected
officials want to eliminate it hurting everyone including 12.6% of white women
and 16. % of white children with an overall poverty rate of 11.5%. Abolishment
of DEI will hurt white America and not Black America because we have been
horrendously harmed from slavery to now in 2024 with the lack to increase the federal
minimum wage to $15.00. Still, our political tactics of selfishness are uncheck
going back to the Insurrection in the United States
Capital on January 6, 2021, to our current upcoming 2025 Administration
with its sweeping agenda on policies that will harm the whites of this country
equally and undoubtedly destroy Colleges and Universities as it dismantles this
country to eliminate your educational freedoms. Is this what our forefathers
meant in the constitution addressing race including the 14th Amendment’s Equal
Protection Clause even though the same politicians encouraged slavery because
it was beneficial to their bottom line? I thought the country would move
forward instead of continuously unmasking the likes of Jim Crow.
As a black
Disabled Veteran who served in a country that didn’t care for any black and
brown people and discounted me and other military service members, DEI evolved
to assist with equal footing for Black veterans facing several challenges with
the VA including lower approval rates of disability benefits and higher rates
of denials for PTSD, written by Courtney Kube “saying and I quote that ‘Black
Veterans who ask the Department of Veterans Affairs for physical or mental
health benefits are less likely to get them than white counterparts, according
to new data compiled by the VA so this is evidence that DEI is a good thing,
especially for our service men and women leaving a war that the US created, but
our political members of Congress and their corporate lobbyists are still getting
paid and getting rid of you are the same time.
The solution
to DEI is to stop being afraid of black service members, minorities, and black women
who must work harder than their white counterparts nationwide to accomplish
their goals. Every CEO should want DEI policies to stay in place or to make it
better because each of their bottom line will be effective with millions and
billionaires fractioning their stocks and stockholders with unhappiness. If they
redirect their efforts to get ahead in eliminating DEI, Walmart, J. P Morgan.
Microsoft, Dell, Facebook, Government, Municipalities, Mega Sporting facilities,
Private Universities, and College Institutions will suffer traumatically,
especially with most of their surrounding areas in the middle of underserved
and disenfranchised counties of poverty including financial institutions will
be affected.
DEI will
undoubtedly change the landscape of state and federal funding surrounding the
aforementioned, however using our models from DDSM Consultant LLC and visiting
