Who will be the next President?
“Republicans are making push toward the House”
By Dennis S. Murray Sr.
In 2008 history took this nation by storm by electing the first African American man as President of the US of America. The celebration started but many were not very happy that this symbolic historical moment took place. The nation had been let down by Former President Bush despite how you felt about him along with the congressional leaders that rule this country and the misery it brought to those that had lost faith along with everything they owned. Sense President Obama has been in office he has seen a relentless amount of disrespect and attack from a nation of people that have come to the aid of national disasters victims, our veterans, and child hunger, however we continue to dishonor this man just because he is black not because he wants to do something great as a leader. We should stop kidding ourselves because race relations in this country have been unrivaled. Is this man our President a threat to this county, or is it being a Black-man with intelligences a threat to national security?
As one looks back too the civil moment struggle and identifies themselves as a African American leader in their disfranchised community their struggle of commitment has come under fire from that roots of ones existences trying to understand the perils that transcends there lives. As a black boy being neglected from birth and victimized from thinking. Logic often gets overlooked when one becomes a thinker and motivator like Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, W.E. B. Dubois, Vernon Johns, the Pullman Porters, Thurgood Marshall, former General Colin Powell, and others for their contribution to a nation. The disrespect that lingers in our society toward those independence's can be overwhelming when the alliances are still battling to be first in line and not for the nation of a diverse people. When a black man becomes independence thinker he is threaten by other standards regardless of what his political party or views. Ask former Republican Candidate Herman Cain! This kind of attack and thinking on an independence thinker should have dissolved when slavery ended, or during the Veteran Nam conflict, or when a Blackman minding his own business is drag behind a truck in Jackson, Mississippi to his deaf in 2011 just because.
President Obama is no exception from the list above of black boys wanting to be great only to be challenged as if he wanted to destroy the world. Republican’s are acting as if he is a second class citizen whom has been dishonored sense becoming the 44th President of U S America. Like many icons for justice during the civil rights moment we only honored those that died first. But know one asked Governor Perry as a Republican candidate for President in Iowa who constantly quotes the Constitution, regarding the horrific crimes in his state, when a White man drag a Black man behind a truck 200 miles to his deaf in 2008 along with other horrific race related crimes in his state. How can anyone be President and not address race relations? This does not single out Governor Perry, but why are we still so cruel too one another to get a job in the White House and constantly disrespecting our current President. It’s because of color, power or both?
We haven’t learned anything sense slavery despite what we have accomplished read, felt, thought, or what we have seen, or not seen, because we are still using race and bigotry as a weapon towards others. Many of these Republican candidates talk about the Constitution and liberties to be equal, but are we truly equal and if so why are we not working towards the “common good” pass quote of Dr. Joseph L. Lowery civil right icon.
Recently, the Iowa Republican Caucus candidates went too war with each other to get Iowan voters to see them as a savior, but needless to say we haven't witness any conversation regarding the African Americans or race relations in Iowa despite party affiliations. Where were the questions or have the Republican’s question on race been answer in Iowa. Why are we so opposing to President Obama, and what does this pool of Republican candidates have to offer a nation filed with diversity and unsettling race relations. As we look at the current unemployment figures only the white employment opportunities are decreasing while blacks and others are increase with in poverty.
This question is still not answered" when you have an alarming rate of African Americans graduating from college with some types of higher education degree but still lack the opportunity to work and care for their families”.
CNN and other local and national media outlets don’t ask direct questions to a diverse audience on their views of our nation torn and divided communities. We need each other to pull up this nation of wounded. There is too much ugliness happening and not enough of peace and collaborations to lift up this nation from our civilian wounded warriors. We can all agree that President Obama can do more, but the Republican’s can also do more by working for the people and not just to defeat President Obama in 2012.
Who can say that the Republicans in the White House can do a better job, only those running for office or those that continue to see greed as the Holy Grail, might? Many on both side of the fence see dollars signs while sitting on the throne in Congress, but none sense former Senate Teddy Kennedy really work for the people and care for there soul regardless of their ethnic background.
Will President Obama fight off the negativity or will those Republican continue to battle each other for the job in the White House. Former President Bush allowed 4,787 soldiers to lose their lives and 32,226 were wounded during the 9 years in a senseless war. What if any of these Republican Candidates said to the wounded warriors that fought for this country but, thank you? Has this war provided any of the families any piece and comfort despite the ugliness that was put on them?
This was the question earlier "why are we not working together instead of ripping President Obama apart for a job in the White House”.
“Ask yourself that question when reviewing the candidates and voting for President for the 2012 November election”.
