What makes Americans Hold

1. USDA’s future for Black and Minority farmers:  John Deere, in partnership with the National Black Growers Council (NBGC) and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), established the LEAP (Legislation, Education, Advocacy and Production Systems) coalition in 2020 to help eliminate barriers created by Heirs Property and provide resources to advance the lives and livelihoods of Black farmers. LEAP is dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability of over 60 million acres of land currently owned or farmed by Black farmer.

 Supporting new legislation

For several years, Black farmers and landowners have experienced systemic discrimination, ranging from denial of federal farm assistance to unjust lending practices. To counter this, in February 2021, the Justice for Black Farmers Act was introduced to provide debt relief and create land grant programs to foster a new generation of Black farmers. LEAP and other advocates are pushing for additional legislation to ensure Black landowners have access to the resources they need to maintain and sustain the land they own and farm. The coalition is also working to eliminate Black farmers' clouded titles so they can leverage the full value of their land for generations to come.

Education and legal assistance

To help Black farm families navigate Heirs' Property issues, John Deere is providing educational support in three ways:

  1. Funding two full-time attorneys and an annual legal internship program and fellowship with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. These attorneys and interns will support the federation's work.
  2. Funding three legal interns from Historically Black Colleges and Universities who will work with families this summer on Heirs' Property issues. These interns were identified by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
  3. Providing the families with pro bono legal counsel from its legal team

Through these efforts Black farmers will receive advice on estate and wills planning (to prevent involuntary loss of Heirs' Property).

Advocates for Black farmers

John Deere has partnered with and made five-year commitments to both the Federation of Southern Cooperatives and Thurgood Marshall College Fund to address Black farmers’ Heirs’ Property challenges. To date, Deere has supported and participated in FSC’s annual National Heirs Property Conference and annual internship program.  The company is also providing webcasts to help educate farmers on credit worthiness. These efforts will better equip Black farmers to reap the full benefits of their land.

 Political atmospheres: Filibuster

The White House on Monday opened the door to revisiting the filibuster — a hotly contested issue across political lines — setting the stage for a bitter congressional fight to do away with the controversial debate tactic.

Responding to a question about Tuesday's Senate debate on voting rights legislation, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said: "As it relates to the filibuster, I don't think you have to take it from us, that would be Congress moving forward — or making a decision. If the vote is unsuccessful tomorrow, we suspect it will prompt a new conversation about the path forward. And we'll see where that goes."

The filibuster is a long-standing Senate practice used to delay a proposed law from being brought to a vote — a tactic that has picked up steam over the last 10 years. It has only been used once so far this session, to block a vote on a bipartisan commission investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Pastor Robert Dyson, of the International Church of Overcomers, has nothing but questions about why Farmers Insurance has delayed in honoring the churches claim for a loss that was reported on August 13, 2012. Pastor Dyson questions why Farmers has yet to settle a claim after all paperwork and documentation has been provided per Farmer’s requests. Is it because of the size of the ministry that serves 1000’s but is small in numbers? Is it because they serve senior citizens, veterans, youth, single parents,

Nepotism is Favoritism, Dennis S Murray sr

We reelect President Obama with the problems that persisted in the world of economics and didn’t select Republican candidate Mitt Rommery whom claims to have had America ’s vision in the grasp of his hand, but many of the underserved didn’t feel that way about him and some didn’t feel President Obama either. Who became our savior and voice of the American people? Who do you really believe, none of the above! Since 2008 many people have lost everything that they have worked very hard for throughout their adult professional life and in 2013 people are still losing everything in numbers and those that put us in this mess just got richer. The job market has proven that regardless of your professional aptitude nepotism plays a key role in many of those that are selected to gain and secure employment. However, Discrimination is not the dirty word in the market place of 2013 anymore even though African American unemployment rate continues to double while white unemployment rate decease

The Problems Black Men Face in America

The Problems Black Men Face in America By Dennis S Murray Sr. In 2008 we elected the First African American President of the United States of America and the racial issues escalated to new extremes. Negative reports were made on this scholar and professional that were unfounded and disrespectful to any man regardless of color, but color was the underlining factors and reasoning for this spike in racial activities against an African American Man with extreme prejudice. In 2012 a majority reelected President Obama because they felt that he was leading America and the world in the right direction.   Despite the outcry of voter suppression that tried to deliberately violate ones civil rights to vote led by aging white Republicans still of the Willie Lynch era. Those majorities especially Black males continue to be deprived of equal justices in America despite our contributions made to America . Just look at the numerous inventions, land, and ideas stolen by Whites due to gre
